A “Lot” of Performance

A “Lot” of Performance – *ONE NIGHT ONLY*
This Friday, May 31st at Momas and Dadas – Performances at 8pm.

A “lot” of 5 minute performances held on the remnants of an old cement floor, located in a dirt “lot”, on the corner of S. Casino Center and Coolidge in the heart of the Las Vegas Arts District.

It is simple, quick, easy and anything goes within the “allotted” 5 minutes!

Many artists are scheduled to perform, but all are welcome to join in on the night of the show.

Beverages will be cold and we will start the bbq grill around 7pm.

All performances are to be included in m.a.d.’s, “Year in Review” publication, available at the end of the year.

Goal 1. To provide a sustainable mixed-use exhibition space for artists working in New Genres.

Goal 2. To offer short-term residencies for guest artists.

Goal 3. To produce artist-run workshops with a focus on installation, video, sound, performance, digital, hybrid and new technologies.

All levels of charitable donations are welcome and greatly appreciated. Please feel free to contact us at any time regarding questions about donating and/or the upcoming program schedule.

We really look forward to the future of Las Vegas and the opportunity to bring community and social events to the Downtown Arts District.

The Traveling Miracle Show

Traveling Miracle Show

Traveling Miracle Show

First Stop For The Traveling Miracle Show…

From the heart of a miraculous metropolis in the desert, comes a group of artists producing modern-day marvels. The Traveling Miracle Show doesn’t claim to offer a cure-all elixir for rheumatism, baldness & bad breath, but it does promise an evening of astonishing spectacle and miraculous events. The intrepid viewer may encounter mystical beasts, a human cactus, melancholic black bile, an infinite fountain of alcohol, the root of good and evil, and a ‘sin-eating’ delicacy.

This one-night art installation and performance event will be held at the new experimental art venue Momas and Dadas Project House by the 18b sign on Casino Center in the heart of the Arts District. The Las-Vegas-based artists participating in the first Traveling Miracle event have established reputations in the fields of video, performance and installation. They are Artist Michael Barrett, Nathan Coté, Matthew Couper, Brent Holmes, Jenessa Kenway, JK Russ and Jevijoe Vitug.

With the assistance of a funding grant from the Nevada Arts Council, the artists will be taking The Traveling Miracle Show on the road in Nevada, with a second event scheduled for Reno Art Works in mid-April.

First Friday April 5th 6:00 – 11:00 PM

Performance Schedule:

6:00 PM onwards ‘Sin Eater’ performance

7:00 – 8:00 PM ‘Desert Bloom’ performance

8:00 – 9:00 PM ‘Unicorn’ performance

Critical Crap(s) – Las Vegas Online Gaming Platform

In the spirit of Vegas, Dada and appropriation, Momas and Dadas cordially invites you to participate in our latest event.

Responding to the brilliant and anonymous critical reviews making the rounds through Vegas, the U.S. postal service and the internet, Momas and Dadas is offering the public an opportunity to place a bet on whomever they believe the gadfly to be.

Momas and Dadas will match any and all wagers placed between now and the time the pundit is revealed.

With the assistance of a Las Vegas defense attorney, M.A.D. has acquired a disposable magnetic latent print kit.
The fingerprint samples taken from the handwritten letter are currently being reviewed within a local lab and will take up to 6 weeks for review.

At that time, a ceremonial event will be held (with cake) and the name and/or names behind the stupendous critical correspondence project will be announced to the public.

No money will exchange hands until it is certain whom the denigrator behind the wonderful works of art is.

At that time, a “Collector” and “Handler” will be dispatched to meet with you to either collect or deliver the agreed upon wager.

Only bets played through the facebook platform will be honored.

Below are links to the current reviews available on the deprecator’s website.

Good luck and happy playing!
